Abstract

This project is concerned with developing a richer interface to an IR system with a view to enabling relevance feedback. The premise for this is the increasing difficulty to effectively navigate and filter information as the amount of data on the internet and elsewhere becomes larger and larger.

The report describes an attempt to produce an application which provides an interface to a IR engine that has been used to index over 2000 hours and with a view to providing an interface which greatly improves the existing ones found at internet search engines.
