DECISION SUPPORT SYSTEM FOR RHEUMATOLOGY DEPARTMENT

Abstract

Rheumatology Department runs several research studies that visiting patients may take part in. These studies have exclusive inclusion criteria which makes it difficult for the nurses to identify eligible patients. The project aims to develop a web-based system that would help nurses identify studies each may take part in. The administrator should oversee the running of the system by creating new studies, editing, deleting outdated studies and managing of users. The general users should have restricted rights to the system by only viewing all studies and matching patient criteria.

This developed interactive system is able to match patient details as input with the study criteria and then suggest decision as results. It saves time and improves efficiency in matching of patient criteria.
