Abstract

Student undertaken information technology related courses take year out of their study time to attend industries and companies to gain employment and working experiences in their relate field of study. Although these student are not been taught in their places of attachements they are been assessed by University. The process of managing their student at their respectives places of assignment has been a challenge since mostly is done manually. The aim of this research work is to develop a Placement Portal for student of University of Sheffield that could automate the process involved. This research work has developed a Placement Portal that automatically retreived and displayed all the available vacancies from industry for students application. The Portal provides a secure communications medium such as forum, news and events for update and sharing of experience during the Year of Attachement
