Rewriting MOLE

Supervised by S.North

Abstract

Currently the University of Sheffield uses MOLE (My Online Learning Environment) as its system for providing course information, such as lecture notes, and for the setting and hand-in of assignments and online quizzes. However, MOLE has a number of flaws which could be improved upon, namely an obscure navigation system and other, more basic flaws like the lack of support for late hand-ins. This project will consist of the creation of a replacement VLE to MOLE which will contain all of its core functionality whilst improving upon its flaws. There will also be extra, added functionality aimed at improving quality of life for users. The aim of this system will be to show the main flaws in MOLE and how they could be improved upon.
