Rewriting MOLE

Supervised by S.North

Abstract

MOLE is the current online system platform which is used most by the University to organise course material and deliver such material to students. It also performs other functions such as allowing students to submit assignments and participate in class forums. However, it poses several issues with regard to usability, redundancy, how intuitive it is. In order to provide a positive and experience to students and staff, as well as encourage students to use the system, it is necessary to make it user-friendly. To address this issue, this report has analysed the way users operate, how to improve usability, and the design methods and technology which may be used to achieve this goal. It concludes that the Web Design method would be suitable for development due to its focus on the user. For technology Ruby on Rails would be an appropriate option, due to its flexibility and features.
