Requirements Validation Tool (KPMG)

Supervised by P.McMinn

Abstract

Requirements are the foundation of any project. They define the purpose, provide an overview and label measures of success for the project. They aim to define what needs to be implemented and can be the base of a contract. Requirements play a huge role in the success of a project. The project proposed by KPMG is to design and develop a system or framework which allows the user to: measure the quality of the requirements provided, spot potential gaps (thereby increasing the scope of the requirements), and produce improved requirements.

The aim of this project is to ultimately provide KPMG with a solution to an issue spanning over multiple sectors. This will help them increase their market share and revenue as the tool is expected to provide them with an advantage over their competitors. It will also help decrease the amount of work required for an otherwise labour  intensive task. Achievements include the development of a system that decrease requirement ambiguity, visually represents requirements, and helps users produce better requirements.
