Game Playing NAO Robot

Supervised by G.Brown

Abstract

As image processing becomes increasingly used in many systems such as gaming consoles that use image processing as controllers. The NAO's capability to use its camera's as a image processor will be tested throughout the project. This project in particular will be using the classic game of Connect 4 with novel image processing techniques, which hope to achieve a game playing NAO robot. Some of the key techniques used are; colour  thresholding, feature matching and image segmentation. The implemented system is able to achieve a form of game playing using the NAO robot whilst also using the NAO's speech capabilities to communicate with the opponent telling them where to place counters.
