Missing data in medical databases

Abstract

Missing data is considered to be an issue in real database. It causes a big challenge during data analysis process due to incompleteness of data. Data can be missed because of many reasons. These reasons could be errors during data entry stage, system failure, survey questions are ambiguous, no response by respondents during data collection. In this  study, the presence of missing data in medical databases will be considered.The @ neurIST  medical databases will be used as a testbed for missing data. The overall aims of this study are to understand the mechanisms causing the presence of missing data in medical databases, to explore data imputation solutions to better cope with this problem and to develop/propose suitable imputation technique to deal with missing data in @ neurIST  medical databases.
