A Research Kit App to Study Student Mental Health

Supervised by M.Villa-Uriol

Abstract

Mental health is a hot topic at the moment affecting as many as 1 in 6 people in the UK. Formal and informal research done on student mental health finds that student mental health is in decline. However, as a topic it is not that well researched or understood. Principally this project is concerned with building an iOS app that collects data on students' mental health, a tool that could aid research on the matter by making it easier for people to participate in such research. This project also creates an online tool to carry out graphical analysis on the data the iOS app collects. The project is motivated through an extensive literature survey, also reviewed are several technologies used in building similar software. The resulting iOS app is available in The App Store and thus it and the online tool are ready to be used to in a piece of research into student mental health.
