Abstract
Loneliness is a complex and usually unpleasant emotion that responds to isolation. It is something that most of the people experience and it can be felt even you are not typically alone but by being surrounded by others. Every day, the number of old people moving into nursing homes is rising. However, being in a nursing home might not be the best idea for them, but in contrast it can worst them.
The aim of this project is to succeed on developing a voiced enabled assistant with MiRo robot.By developing a voice-enabled interface to a number of services can be a solution to isolation due to the fact that MiRo is a useful and reliable platform with a friendly animal-line appearance. With its six senses and the advanced brain it can display a distinct personality which can be illustrated as a human and keep company to people who have nobody to communicate with.
This report mainly introduces the background of the old people that are experiencing feelings of boredom and isolation in nursing homes. With the use of the MiRo developer kit, a voiced enabled assistant has been developed which provides benefits to the health and social interaction of old people.
