Abstract
The technological development has had impact on our lives and introduced a variety of new devices and media that are now used for common benefits. As such, one of the current concerns of the worldwide population is health improvement and self-health monitoring. It has become evident that the current technology we posses can have a beneficial outcome on one's health just through the use of a mobile application.
This report introduces the topics of the use of mobile applications for health-self management and their effectiveness. Regulatory and ethical aspects of medical devices and applications relevant to the project are reviewed. Technologies for mobile app development are evaluated in relation to the project objectives.
Application's requirements and design approach concepts are assessed with further considerations for the development of an interactive prototype. Implementation process provides the basis for the prototype testing methodology. The final results from the user testing research are evaluated and implications for development of the app are considered.
