A Really Useful Learning Platform

Supervised by M.Stannett

Abstract

Many university students find it difficult to remain focused and study for long periods of time. The majority of the Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs) that exist claim to be useful tools to improve learning but instead are largely administrative tools and do not do a sufficient job at providing material in a way that aids student study.

This project aims to build a learning platform that helps students to focus and improves their learning. The research explores several different study skills and strategies and the web app developed includes several of these tools.

The application developed received positive user feedback during testing with the majority of participants saying that they would find it useful for studying, although there are several further features that could be implemented to improve the system.
