Implementing a user interface to modify parameters of an agent based modelof sperm movement within the reproductive tract

Supervised by D.Walker

Abstract

Sperm movement in the mammalian oviduct is influenced by several factors such as sperm population size and starting position. A 3D cellular automata model has been created to study how these factors affect the movement of sperm and to learn the relative impact of each factor. Simulations of sperm movement in the model are generated based a set of starting parameters, currently set in a command line interface. Medical professionals and students that require the use of this model will not necessarily have the technical knowledge required to set these parameters and it will be my project to create an intuitive, web-based user interface allowing anyone with no prior knowledge to use the model.
